Last month, the highly anticipated sci-fi sequel Dune: Part Two was pushed from its Nov. 3, 2023 release date back to March 15, 2024. The announcement of the four-month delay came with the widespread belief that it was an inevitable consequence of the ongoing strike by SAG-AFTRA, the Hollywood actors' union. Although Warner Bros. Discovery, the distributor of Dune: Part Two, has not explicitly referred to the strikes as the cause of the delay, it came after weeks of speculation that the entire fall movie slate was possibly at risk.
