Apocalypse, also known as En Sabah Nur (or more recently, Revelation), has been a source of excitement for X-Men fans for months. The former villain became a fan-favorite during Dawn of X, only to depart from the comics following X of Swords. Since the release of Before the Fall: Heralds of Apocalypse (by Al Ewing and Luca Pizzari), his long-awaited return has been teased throughout multiple titles. These include Gerry Duggan's X-Men, Kieron Gillen and Lucas Werneck's Immortal X-Men, and, most prominently, Al Ewing's X-Men Red. As the Fall of X has raged on, the wife and children of Apocalypse have brought civil war to Arakko, and many have wondered what the powerful mutant has been doing in the meantime. X-Men Red #17 (by Ewing, Yildiray Cinar, Federico Blee, and VC's Ariana Maher) finally reveals what has been going on: Apocalypse is forming a new team of mutants.
