When people think of “The Greatest Game of All Time,” a few major titles may come to mind. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time; The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt; Tetris, and many others populate countless lists that have been compiled by magazines and journalists over the years, each meant to represent the very best of what the gaming medium has to offer. For many gamers, however, the idea of nominating an overlooked third-person action title that also happened to be a commercial failure upon release in 2003 might not be their first course of action. But for those that played it, 2003’s Beyond Good and Evil truly was one of the best games of its generation. Despite not receiving the credit it deserved until well after its release, Beyond Good and Evil has since become a cult classic—a game that many look back on with fondness and respect. Four years after Beyond Good and Evil’s release, rumors began to surface that a sequel was in development and excitement began to grow. In the twenty years since its release, Beyond Good and Evil still has not received a sequel.
