A classic Yu-Gi-Oh card only ever seen in the beloved original anime is being printed in real life for the first time ever.

As reported by DiceBreaker, the latest Yu-Gi-Oh set, Maze of Millennia, focuses on bringing cards from the anime to the real Yu-Gi-Oh trading card game, even ones that debuted more than two decades ago.

This includes the Eye of Illusion, a card used by classic villain Maximillion Pegasus in Episode 2 of the Yu-Gi-Oh: Dual Monsters anime. In the episode, Pegasus sucks Yugi into the TV as he steals his grandfather's soul, and plays the Eye of Illusion card to take control of Yugi's Dark Magician too.

Though the effects of the card were likely mimicked in playgrounds for years, publisher Konami never actually printed the card in classic sets like Legend of the Blue Eyes White Dragon or Metal Raiders.

Maze of Millennia looks to fix that, however, and also includes cards from other eras of the Yu-Gi-Oh anime like GX and 5D's. Also in the set is Fighting Flame Swordsman, Earthbound Servant Geo Kraken, Bonfire, and more.

Yu-Gi-Oh is as popular as ever more than 20 years later, with fans continuing to play in person and digitally in one of the many games. The accurate simulation game of Master Duel was released in 2022 and proved incredibly successful, with tens of millions of downloads in the first few months.
