As part of its Black Friday Sale, Amazon has the Sapphire Nitro+ AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX Vapor-X Gaming Graphics Card for $999.99. This is a great price for the best RX 7900 XTX on the market. The Nitro+ might cost more than other 7900 XTX models, but it more than makes up for it with its outrageously overbuilt cooling system, impeccable build quality, and as a direct result, extreme overclocking potential.
Black Friday Deal: Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 7900 XTX GPU for $999.99
The Sapphire Nitro+ RX 7900 XTX is the priciest 7900 XTX GPU by MSRP. It normally retails at $1100, which is only $100 than most other models. But that $100 price premium is SO worth it for the build quality and cooling that you get with this behemoth. Outside of the PCB, the Nitro+ is almost entirely made out of metal. It is held together by a die-cast aluminum and magnesium alloy frame. A copper plate sits on the GPU core to transfer heat. Above that a vapor chamber acts like a giant heatpipe to transfer the heat to a massive finned aluminum heatsink that is then exhausted by three high-quality axial ball bearing fans. This is the best kind of cooling you can get short of a dedicated liquid cooling solution. The benefit of the extra cooling is that the Nitro+ runs virtually silent. It will run cooler and quieter than any RTX 4080 in its price range.
And speaking of the RTX 4080, the Nitro+ can be faster even if you don't overclock it further. The Nitro+ comes out of the box with a healthy 180MHz overclock on top of its boost clock speed. Without factoring in DLSS or ray tracing, the Nitro+ offers superior performance over the 4080 while producing less heat and less noise. In order to match the acoustic and thermal performance, you would have to invest in a higher end RTX 4080 like the ASUS ROG STRIX, which can cost over $1400. At up to 1440p, this card will never break a sweat. At 4K, it's still on even pacing with the RTX 4080 if you don't turn on ray tracing. Ray tracing is the handicap of all AMD cards and if you care much about that technology, you'll have to stick with NVIDIA.
To sum up, with this Black Friday deal, you're getting the card for only $999.99. That's $200 less than the cheapest RTX 4080. Despite the lower price, you'll get a better built card with more cooling potential, more overclocking headroom, and equivalent or better performance. It might cost a little more than other RX 7900 XTX cards on the market, but in this case you really do get what you pay for.
