Jimi Hendrix will be forever known as one of the greatest guitarists and performers of all time. But now, decades after his untimely passing, the rock and roll legend is taking on a new role as the star of a graphic novel space opera called Jimi Hendrix: Purple Haze.
IGN can exclusively debut a new preview of Jimi Hendrix: Purple Haze. Check it out in the slideshow gallery below:
Jimi Hendrix: Purple Haze is published by Titan Comics with the support of Experience Hendrix L.L.C. and Authentic Hendrix, L.L.C. The book is written by Mellow Brown and DJ BenHa Meen and illustrated by Tom Mandrake.
Purple Haze is no mere Hendrix biopic, but instead tells an original story with the guitarist at the center. The book is set in a psychedelic sci-fi landscape where an evil power seeks to enslave all life and silence music forever. To save the universe, Hendrix must seek out a magical talisman that can amplify the power of his music.
Jimi Hendrix: Purple Haze will be released on August 13, 2024 in bookstores, comic shops and digital platforms. The book will also be available as a direct market edition through comic shops that features an exclusive cover by Mandrake. You can preorder the book from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books A Million, and Forbidden Planet for the UK market.
In other comic book news, we've got an exclusive preview of the TMNT 40th Anniversary Comics Celebration special, and we break down the epic ending to the X-Men's Krakoan era.
