Nvidia has locked in a date for its CES 2024 press conference, where the company is expected to announce at least one new graphics card.
The Nvidia Special Address keynote will be held on January 8, 2024, one day before CES 2024 begins. While Nvidia did not explicitly mention “GeForce” in the announcement, nor is it holding the event during the actual days the show floor is open, the company has often held briefings and demos to media during the same week as CES. At CES this year, for example, Nvidia announced the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti GPU.
Nvidia’s CES keynote announcement comes as hardware leakers have reported Nvidia is gearing up to launch a Super variant of its RTX 40 series graphics cards. Earlier this week, reputable Nvidia hardware leaker Kopite7kimi claimed that Nvidia will announce RTX 4070 and 4080 Super cards in January during CES. Kopite7kimi claims the RTX 4080 Super graphics card will offer 20GB of VRAM, 4GB more than the standard RTX 4080 models.
Nvidia debuted the Super series in 2019 with its GeForce 20 Series graphics card, with the company opting not to release any Super variants in its RTX 30 series. The RTX 20 Series Super cards were known for improving the specs over its standard counterparts, yet being similar in price.
