Mission: Impossible is a franchise that has had incredible staying power within Hollywood. First as a tv show, then truly popularized with Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt, Mission: Impossible is considered to be a staple of the action and spy genre. Because of its espionage and spy vs. spy themes, the franchise often thought of as the "American" James Bond. While there are some similarities between the two, Mission: Impossible is much closer to Fast and Furious, with the major difference being that Mission: Impossible is actually good.
